Matthieu Blazy opens a fresh chapter for the house of Chanel
At the Grand Palais in Paris, Chanel presented its Spring Summer 2026 collection under the direction of Matthieu Blazy, marking the start of a new creative era. His debut brought a quiet energy to the house, balancing timeless codes with modern grace.
The venue was transformed into a soft universe of light. Floating orbs shimmered above the runway as models moved in a slow elegant rhythm. The setting captured the poetic balance between heritage and discovery. Everything felt measured, calm, and beautifully restrained. Blazy revisited Chanel’s signatures with new precision. Tweed jackets appeared softer, their tailoring ease into gentler silhouettes. Sheer blouses, silk skirts, and flowing trousers added movement to the house’s structured. Each look carried subtle confidence, a whisper of elegance rather than a delcaration.
The colour platte reflected serenity. Hues of ivory pearl, pale blue, and charcoal mixed with soft pink and metallic accents. The fabrics, from light tweed to chiffon and silk, layered gracefully to create dimension. Each piece looked wearable yet artistic, the
kind of clothing that feels alive when worn. Accessories followed the same thought. Classic quilted bags appeared in new rounded shapes, while flats and low heels kept the focus on ease. Jewelry glimmered in thin, layered lines that complemented the textures
of the clothes. It was Chanel at its most human, sophisticated, and serene.
Among the front row, Jennie Kim, Chanel’s global ambassador, was a vision of understand luxury. She wore a pale blue textured two-piece set with soft frayed edges styled with a light yellow
mini Chanel bag. The look felt delicate and effortless, echoing the mood of the show. Her natural styling and soft waves completed the picture of quiet allure. Jennie captured the essence of
modern Chanel, where simplicity meets intention.
Blazy’s debut felt like a conversation between era. He honoured the language of Gabrielle Chanel while giving it new rhythm and youth. There was no attempt to reinvent, only to refine and
breathe a new life into what already felt eternal. As the show came to a close, the light dimmed into a gentle glow. The collection left behind a sense of calm strenth. Chanel SS26 was not
about excess or spectacle, but about the kind of elegance that endures.
“I wanted to create clothes that move with the person,” Blazy said. “Something that feels real, free, and alive.”
