Jung Kook continues his journey with CHANEL Beauty, this time exploring LES EXCLUSIFS DE CHANEL through three distinctive fragrances: 1957, Gardénia and Comète.
As Global Ambassador for CHANEL Fragrances and Beauty, Jung Kook shares his own impressions of each scent, describing them through the feeling and character they evoke.
For him, 1957 is musky and bright. Gardénia feels sunny, almost as though it carries sunlight, while Comète has a sparkling, twinkling quality. Three different impressions that reflect the varied personalities found within LES EXCLUSIFS DE CHANEL.
Behind the fragrances are stories closely tied to the House. 1957 recalls the year Gabrielle Chanel received the Neiman Marcus Award in Dallas, recognising her influence on fashion. Its name also connects “19”, her birth date, with “57”, referencing CHANEL’s presence on New York’s 57th Street.
Gardénia traces its story to 1925 and Gabrielle Chanel’s love of the camellia. As the flower has no extractable scent, its character was reimagined through fragrance, resulting in a white floral composition inspired by one of CHANEL’s most recognisable symbols.
Comète draws from another chapter of the House’s history, Gabrielle Chanel’s 1932 Bijoux de Diamants High Jewellery collection. Its celestial motifs, particularly stars and comets, inspired a fragrance built around the idea of brilliance and light.
Through Jung Kook’s personal impressions, the heritage behind these fragrances feels a little more immediate: 1957 is bright, Gardénia is sunlit and Comète sparkles, each carrying its own character while remaining connected to the world of CHANEL.
