After 14 years with JYP Entertainment, TWICE’s Chaeyoung is closing one chapter of her career and preparing to take her individual activities in a new direction.
The singer personally shared the news with ONCE on August 13, choosing to speak directly to fans about her departure and what she plans to pursue next.
As she moves forward from JYP Entertainment, Chaeyoung plans to build her solo music around her own creative world, “LIL FANTASY,” although the name of her new label has yet to be confirmed.
“I plan to continue creating and making music within my own ‘LIL FANTASY’ world,” she shared.
Chaeyoung’s relationship with JYP Entertainment stretches back to her trainee years, before TWICE made their debut in 2015. Looking back on those 14 years, she thanked the people at JYP and the TWICE team who supported and believed in her throughout her journey. She also expressed her love and appreciation for her fellow members, who have remained by her side throughout her career.
Her first solo album, “LIL FANTASY vol.1,” released in September 2025, offered a closer look at Chaeyoung’s individual musical identity. The project gave her space to develop her own sound and creative direction, something she now plans to continue building as she moves forward.
The album also received international recognition, ranking No. 86 on Rolling Stone’s “100 Best Albums of 2025.” Forbes included it among its best K-pop albums of the year, while Billboard ranked it No. 7 on its “Best K-pop Albums of 2025” list.
Although Chaeyoung is leaving JYP Entertainment for her individual activities, TWICE remains firmly part of her future.
She reassured fans that her activities with the group will continue unchanged, describing TWICE as her roots and recognising her years as a member as an important part of why she has received so much love.
Chaeyoung also expressed her hope that both sides of her musical journey, as a member of TWICE and through her “LIL FANTASY” world, will continue bringing meaningful music into fans’ lives.
With a new label ahead and its name yet to be confirmed, Chaeyoung is entering a significant new stage after more than a decade with JYP Entertainment, while continuing her journey as part of TWICE.

I wanted my family, ONCE, who have always been by my side, to be the first to hear the news about me directly from me.
