Ji Ye-eun and Vata Announce Marriage, Wedding Set for December

Ji Ye-eun and Vata are taking the next step in their relationship, with the actress and choreographer set to celebrate their wedding later this year.

Their respective agencies confirmed the news on September 2. CP Entertainment, which represents Ji Ye-eun, shared that the couple had made the decision to spend their lives together after developing a deep sense of trust in one another. Vata’s agency, AIRA, similarly shared that love and trust were behind their decision to become lifelong partners.

The couple’s wedding is reportedly scheduled for December 12 and will be held privately at an undisclosed location in Seoul.

The news comes several months after Ji Ye-eun and Vata publicly confirmed their relationship in April. Both born in 1994, the pair are said to have met through church, where they first became friends before their relationship gradually developed into something more.

Their personal connection has also crossed paths with their respective careers. Vata was behind the choreography for “Milkshake” by Chungju Ji, the project group formed by Ji Ye-eun and Ji Suk-jin. The choreographer later worked with Ji Ye-eun as she prepared to take the stage at Waterbomb Seoul 2025.

Ji Ye-eun has built a growing presence across Korean television and entertainment since making her debut in the 2017 web drama “How To.” Her appearances on Coupang Play’s “SNL Korea” brought her wider attention, while her addition to SBS’s “Running Man” as a regular cast member introduced her to an even broader audience.

She has since continued her variety activities with programmes including “Office Workers,” “Kian’s Bizarre B&B” and “Yoo Jae-suk Camp.”

Vata, whose real name is Kim Tae-hyun, is best known as the leader of dance crew We Dem Boyz. He rose to wider recognition during Mnet’s “Street Man Fighter” in 2022, where We Dem Boyz finished as runner-up.

Beyond his work with the crew, Vata has established himself as a choreographer within the Korean music industry. He created the choreography for Zico’s “New Thing,” which went on to spark a widely followed dance challenge, and also participated in the choreography for BLACKPINK Jennie’s “Like JENNIE.”

With their wedding now set for December, Ji Ye-eun and Vata will close out 2026 by beginning a new chapter together.

Congratulations to Ji Ye-eun and Vata on their upcoming marriage!
